You can use a motion detector sprinkler year round if you live in the sunbelt of the USA or other warmer climates.

If there is a freeze warning, you should disconnect the unit and bring it inside until the weather warms up. Would not hurt to bring in the hose as well.

People in places like Florida and Arizona will have less to be concerned about than people say in the North East and other parts of the country.

The motion detector sprinkler uses water and if it freezes, it can damage your unit.

Normally, this time of year also sees a decline in animal traffic that will turn into pests that
damage gardens etc.

Just use common sense, and if it is going to get into the freezing range, bring your units and hosing inside to prevent any damage.
