There are two proven methods to keep herons out of your pond. The first is to use a bird netting product that would encompass the entire pond area. The netting must be secured tightly or it will be ineffective.

The second is to use a motion activated sprinkler. Herons are sensitive to sudden noise and movements. The blast of water at them will insure an unpleasant experience and encourage them to feast somewhere else.
